WIN a Quilt! Challenge

Machine Quilting, Lori Kennedy

Good Morning, Quilters and Fitness Buffs!

How are YOU today?  Did YOU have a good week?

More fruits and veggies anyone?

A few long walks?

Did you reward yourself with a little quilting time?  Or perhaps you bought yourself a few Fat Quarters (I did!)…

LOSE THE FAT QUARTERS CHALLENGE

Last week’s challenge was to keep up the moving goals… and add a nutrition goal.

I think I jinxed myself by saying I didn’t have a sweet tooth!  It seemed that’s all I craved this week.  Fortunately, I found mangoes were the perfect solution…(though I still haven’t found a good way to cut them– found myself gnawing at the pith--not dignified!)

To enter the challenge…

Tell us what worked for you or what didn’t work for you this week.

Share a link or a story or…just tell us what you are doing to become a #FitQuilter!

Please leave the comments on this post by tomorrow at noon CST.

The winner will be announced on Thursday…and the prize–GOOD HEALTH and The Notions Mini-Quilt!

What worked for me–12,000 steps every day!

What didn’t…Fast food dinners twice this week! (not worth it!)

What about YOU?  We’d love to hear!

THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE:

Reassess your goals….

If you weren’t able to reach your goals last week, will you be able to change your schedule this week and try again?

Or do you need to make your goals a little more achievable and try again?

On the other hand, if you achieved your goals, you can either repeat them this week or add a goal.

The most  important thing:  Make goals that are easily achievable!

Success leads to more success!

Let’s keep moving to keep quilting!

CREATIVITY

It is an  important part of creativity to allow ourselves a little time to “play”–a few minutes or hours every week to try new materials and experiment with ideas.

Even if the process leads to nothing more than scraps for the bin, these experiments help a quilter grow by eliminating some ideas and fostering new ones.Bird Mini QuiltI started this little quilt because I wanted to play with some new embroidery threads and because I have a mountain of “quilt tutorials” and practice pieces for which I’d like to find a use.  Read more HERE

Bird Mini QuiltI also wanted to play with hand embroidery-which I have always enjoyed. (Like many of you, I started my sewing life by embroidering.)Bird Mini Quilt

A CHALLENGE FOR YOU

This week I’d like to challenge YOU to “play” with intention.

  • Is there another hobby or skill you could add to your quilting like painting, embroidery, weaving?
  • Is there a material in your sewing room you could use in a new or novel way?
  • Is there a supply that you would like to buy and experiment with?

Summer is time to play!

INSPIRATION

Please take two minutes to watch this video about the Hokkaido Garden in Japan-it’s a very creative musical approach to a garden.  I know YOU are going to love it!

Happy Stitching!
