New Craftsy Class!

Good Morning, Quilters!

It’s an exciting day here at The Inbox Jaunt as we are launching our third Craftsy video:  Creating a Quilting Plan:  Approaches for Any Quilt (click here to see the 90 second preview!!!)

This class is SHORT but SWEET and is classified as a Craftsy mini-course and is available for just $9.99!!!

In less than an hour you can learn a wide variety of tips for transforming YOUR quilt tops into family heirlooms!

Be sure to download the Class Materials–they are a very important part of this class.  You might even want to make several copies right away–and work through them for each quilt you are planning.

If you don’t know where to begin the quilting process, consult the Quilting Roadmap!

If you aren’t sure what motifs to choose, narrow the focus with the Design Worksheet!

And check your progress with The Final Evaluation (not a test, but a way to make constant, steady improvement with your quilting!)

Craftsy, Creating a Quilting Plan

The class begins by choosing an “Approach to Quilting” for every quilt–Basic (simple outlining of blocks), All Over (one or two? motifs!) or Custom (a design plan for each area of the quilt)

Not every quilt needs custom quilting, so we look at easy ways to make Basic and All Over quilting more interesting.

We also discuss how batting, thread and motifs work together to create the look and feel of your quilt.

Craftsy, Craftsy Approaches, Ghost BlocksTECHNIQUES FOR A VARIETY OF QUILT STYLES

And we look at how to quilt a variety of quilt styles including embroidered, appliqué and quilts with a lot of negative space.

Craftsy, Lori Kennedy

Learn about stabilizing, machine guided outlining, free motion outlining, how to cut the bobbin thread when tying, and much, much more!

This class does not include a lot of doodling or stitching of quilt motifs. If you are looking for quilt motifs, try my other two Craftsy classes (50% 0ff this week!)

Divide and Conquer: Creative Quilting for Any Space or

Creative Free Motion Techniques: From Doodle to Design

And you won’t learn what motifs to choose for YOUR quilts–only YOU can choose…but WE WILL help YOU think about the process and help YOU decide the best motifs for YOUR quilts based on your skill level, the time available and who the quilt is for!

If you are looking for a quick jumpstart to get you rolling on quilting YOUR UFOs and turning them into family heirlooms–this class is for YOU!

This class is less than one hour!!!  YOU can learn so much in ONE HOUR!!!

Once YOU start quilting, YOUR own ideas will percolate and YOU will be the designer!

So, as they say at Craftsy...”Let’s Get Started!”

May ALL YOUR quilts be heirlooms!

  1. First thing I did this morning – purchase your new Craftsy class. Can’t wait to get started on it! Thank you so much for making an affordable class that I’m sure is packed with GREAT information.

  2. Just ordered your class thru Craftsy, When I asked to download the materials list on my signed in account, I was told I had to ask permission. I am sure all will be well, just different than other classes I have taken. I am posting so others will not be surprised.
Cant wait to watch and learn then stitch on my UFO’s

  3. Congratulations, Lori, on the launching of your latest Craftsy class! Every time you do something new as an instructor, we benefit as students! It’s a win-win situation, don’t you agree? Brava!

  4. Can you give me a pdf of the materials list for the new Craftsy class? I’ve purchased the class but cannot download, or even access the file because it uses Google…and I will NOT use Google…won’t go into the numerous reasons 🙁
    Thanks, love the class 🙂

    • I’m not at my desk. Best to check with help desk at Craftsy. They usually respond very quickly. Please let me know how that works!

  5. I just signed up–I have a quilt for a friend in the frame that I’ve been staring at for a week, hoping for quilting inspiration to strike–now it has! Thanks!

  6. Thank you!! I was just wishing that you made a class on this very subject yesterday!,
I’ve already signed up and watched most of it. Unfortunately it is ONE day late for me. I was just debating what to do with my borders, and have about a fourth completed. Great information ready for the next quilt. ❤️

  7. OMG – Thanks, so much, Lori! I have several tops waiting to be quilted, so your new class was most timely. I dropped everything today, bought the class and watched all of the lessons. The class was excellent – many tips for planning the quilting. I highly recommend it! I’m so excited to get started taking my tops from folded to quilted! Hail to Queen Lori!!

  8. Your class came at the perfect time. I just finished a special quilt top, and I have been very nervous about quilting it. My daughter embroidered on several of the blocks and the quilt is a gift for one of her friends. I can’t wait to begin watching. Thank you!

  9. I just ordered it and am looking forward to using it. I have a pile of already stitched in the ditch table runners and small quilts awaiting further FMQ. Thank you!

  10. I just watched this last night as I sandwiched and stitched in the ditch and small tabletopper. It really got the wheels turning as I think about the quilting. Lots of food for thought there!
