    • And I was just thinking I can imagine this scene here on PEI where I live. Our beaches also have whitish/reddish sand. We just spent lots of time there this past week with our son and his wife and children. Alas, they left again this morning and the house is quiet. I love this painting.

  1. Ahhh…two of my favorite things, quilting and the beach. I grew up across the bay from Atlantic City, so I like to say that I have salt air in my blood. Thank you, Lori, for providing these weekly museum trips, and for everything else you do to enrich our quilting lives!

  2. And it reminds me of the years on Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach and St Augustine beach with our offspring… I loved to go in the winter too. Hmmm, is she wearing a kimona and kneeling on a quilt? Maybe she is embroidering or doing sashiko on a block for the next quilt? I should go read More about her.

    • Well, on really thinking about it, I was 13 when she died, so I guess it was right on course. Beautifully done!
