A New Project-Sneak Peek

Quilting, Lori Kennedy, Hand DyeGood Morning, Quilters!

I recently splurged on a collection of hand dyed fabric from Cherrywood Fabrics

They are sooooo pretty–the kind you don’t even want to cut!

But I’ve learned my lesson about “saving fabrics”.  (I once saved a favorite fabric so long it went out of date and I gave it away without using it.)

I decided to break out the hand dyes for a new project.

I am working on Jacquelynne Steve’s (Art of the Home) block of the month blog hop.

The Patterns are FREE and available August 7…but YOU can sign up now!

I plan to free motion quilt the houses on the center squares (instead of appliqué), so I am changed the color way to include a medium blue as the center square–but more on that in August…

If YOU are interested stitching along, sign up to get the patterns each month.  There will be several quilt bloggers show variations of the “I Love Home” pattern.

It’s a great chance to try a few new techniques.

Hope YOU will join us!

  1. Wow!!! Bonus!!!! I love Jacquelynn and YOU. I am really excited about this. I can’t wait. Anxious to get my fabrics ready. It looks like the houses may be able to be scrappy.

  2. Great fabrics. Such beautiful colours. I am signed up for the BOM as well. Mine will vary from the patterns as I plan haunted houses. I haven’t made a Halloween quilt in a few months so it is time. 🙂

  3. Hi! As a new quilter, I get so much inspiration from your site. Thank you! Question: What does it mean when fabric goes out of date? Is this something I need to watch out for? I’ve been using up some fabrics I got more than 15 years ago.

  4. I can’t wait to see your quilting on it: I found you about a year ago via Pinterest, but somehow I never thought of subscribing to you blog to keep up with what you are doing now. So I’m off to see if I can subscribe! 🙂 And I love your Cherrywood block. Those fabrics are fabulous, aren’t they? I’ve got some old ones too that I haven’t cut into yet: I’d better get on it, but luckily they don’t go out of style!! 😀 Hugs, H in Healdsburg
