    • Nature is wonderful. However, nature plays havoc with some people’s allergies. Thus the next best thing is nature’s beauty in synthetics.

      • Just to yak yak…our daughter wanted real flowers for their wedding in 1993 but after visit to the florist, She decided she couldn’t stand the thought of them dying. In a shop in St Augustine, she saw some frosty paper roses w leaves, buds and tendrils.. They were shades and tints of pink and soft green. The paper was strong enough to hold its shape but very soft to the touch. The shop ordered them from overseas someplace for her. They made her bouquet and for the maid of honor, the boutonniere for the groom, etc., corsages for moms and grandmom, pastor, and had garlands for the arch they stood under for their vows. She has used them in her bedroom decor all these years on the 4 poster bed. They are still gorgeous.
Because we like fresh fragrance of the evergreens, we make our wreaths new each year from our cedar trees.

  1. I’m new to your blog. I found it when searching up FMQ tutorials to do on a snowman quilt. I’ve used several of your ideas. Thank you so much. Looking forward to learning more from you.

  2. I love how traditional, may I say old fashioned, it is. I am clinging to old traditions even harder this year. Have a happy Christmas season.

  3. Hi Lori: I recently purchased the Free Motion Guide Grip that you recomended. Is there some secret as to how to use it? I have been FMQ for years so it is not new to me. It just does’nt seem to grip the surface and frankly I found it useless. Please let me know if I am missing something. Btw, I have just recently found your blog and I love, love it. So much good FMQing designs. Thanx in advance, Jackie Hubert
