  1. You have quite the story, Lori! (Rhyme not intended…?) I too sewed through my finger, next to the bone, with my machine while on a quilt retreat, though the repercussions were definitely not as severe as yours! With a little help, we rolled back the hand wheel and got the needle out of my finger, needle intact. I was pretty much in shock for awhile! They put disinfectant and a bandaid on my finger, and back to sewing I went! I agree with your tip to use tweezers for stray threads, but the best tip for me was to always use a stylus while machine sewing. I recently found the best stylus EVER when I was taking a Craftsy class with Annie Unrein and bought her byannie stylus. Didn’t want to spend that much money, but what a find! So, there’s my story…?
