At the Window – A Paper Piecing Pattern

We would like to offer a big welcome to all of the many new followers of The Inbox Jaunt.  It seems many of you found us as a result of the HUGE Sulky Giveaway–and WE ARE THRILLED you are HERE!   Welcome, Welcome!

Please do us one favor-tell all your “quilty” friends about us.  My motto has always been “The More, The Merrier!”

Recently, a friend of The Inbox Jaunt offered to create paper piecing patterns with some of the images found on Silent Sunday.

Peggy has amazed us with the breadth of her skill at creating these projects.

  • We started with Easter Sunrise that employed curved piecing HERE.
  • She created an easier pattern-The Heron HERE.
  • Peggy surprised us with a hexie pieced Hydrangea pattern HERE.
  • She even created a pattern from our  Saturday “Seamstresses in Fine Art” Series HERE

Today, Peggy offers my favorite so far–At the Window.  It is an iPhone shot of my daughter who got married last week.  The photo was taken just before we left for church…

  1. The photo is stunning. I think, as time goes by, it will be one of your favorites of the day. And will bring a tear. 20 years ago my husband took a beautiful picture of my daughter as she was l getting ready to enter the limo after her wedding. Her sweet husband was helping get the dress in the car, and the photo captured her ( I thought) blowing a fair-well kiss to her Daddy. When they returned to our home, and I respectfully showed her this sweet picture, she said, “Oh, Mom, I was brushing the birdseed off of my mouth!”

    • It made me sad but I’m such a romantic. I have three boys who just don’t understand a mum who sees romantic things in life that they just don’t. X

  2. The picture is beautiful, so ethereal. Peggy’s pattern is so intricate and really captures the sense of the photo. Thanks, Peggy.

  3. Sorry, just read over your post again and answered my own question. Bet it was a BEAUTIFUL wedding!

  4. This is a beautiful pattern and so cleverly done, your daughter must have been stunning in real life! Are there templates to go with it or am I just not looking closely enough? Love Peggy’s Hydrangeas too. Both are something to aim for having just completed piecing, but not quilted Young Woman Sewing. Thank you both so much for sharing!

  6. Just a follow on to my previous post – My interpretation of Young Woman Sewing won at the local show and now goes down for regional judging in April and if it wins there it will go onto the State finals! Fingers crossed and thank you and Peggy so very much for sharing. I am now going to attempt At the Window – it is stunning!!
