  1. I like it and even more after reading that his intent while painting was to make something enjoyed in people’s homes not museums. 🙂

  2. I love the painting. She seems so content sewing. I don’t think I look like that when I’m sewing. There’s always a few swear words flying around. Maybe one day I’ll perfect the “art” of sewing. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Rosemary B here:
I love this. She looks relaxed and happy, perhaps making something for herself — a beautiful sachet for her closet of dresses, or maybe a little bag to carry her credit cards… oh, never mind that one, maybe a tissue and some chapstick 😀

  4. Lovely picture, but reading the biography made me curious. At the top, in the facts section it says he died in St. Augustine Florida. Reading the biography, it never mentions him living in Florida, but says he lived in Provincetown Massachusetts when he died. Makes me wonder, was he traveling when he died? Strange…

  5. I know that my shoulders would not be that relaxed and I would have my head bent over with my glasses on throwing out a few of those words as well. It truly is a lovely painting however.
